Long-term Stay Campground (269) 945-5166 E-Mail Us

Welcome to Whispering Waters Campground!

Located on the Thornapple River in the heart of Michigan’s Barry County, Whispering Waters Campground is ideally situated and easy to reach from the metropolitan areas of Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing and Battle Creek. Offering a quaint lifestyle that is cherished but so often missing from the contemporary American landscape, the town of Hastings has been identified as # 68 on the list of the best small towns in America in author Norman Crampton’s book “The 100 Best Small Towns in America”. We like to think that Whispering Waters Campground, in turn, offers its guests some of the best in Hastings, Barry County, and the state of Michigan. By definition, this is “Pure Michigan” at its finest!

Whispering Waters Campground is a long-term stay campground with the focus on seasonal camping. Although a limited number of monthly and weekly campsites will be maintained on a space-available basis, we really want to do everything possible to meet the needs of our seasonal guests. Seasonal campers demonstrate a true commitment to their chosen RV park, and we are committed to dedicating our efforts to the interests of those seasonal guests. We offer the nicest and cleanest facilities in the area, the most highly dedicated staff, a true family-like atmosphere and campers who take tremendous pride in both the park and their individual campsites. We believe that this defines the best in family camping, and we invite you to stop in to personally experience what we offer. We think that after touring our facility, talking with our current campers and meeting with us, you will want to join that special camaraderie that you will discover at Whispering Waters.

I just wanted to write and let you know that we really enjoyed our stay with you over the Labor Day Weekend. This was our first time staying at Whispering Waters and we will definitely come back, hopefully soon! The facilities are top notch, the staff are wonderful and the activities you planned for your guests were fantastic. We have done a lot of camping this summer and our experience was a 10/10. Thank you for a memorable weekend.

Wonderful hosts. My family and another visited Whispering Waters and were pleasantly surprised at the hospitality and great amenities that Roger and Uta have here. We tent camped and had a wonderful site for 2 tents close to the river. The kayaking trip was a blast for everyone. I really appreciated the camp store. It has everything that you will forget to pack at very reasonable prices. Roger is a great guy to deal with. I highly recommend this place and we will be back soon.

Fantastic Trip! We just returned home from a great Labor Day Weekend at this campground. Fun activities for the kids such as wagon rides, fossil digs, and a glow in the dark night hike. Staff is super friendly and helpful! Would definitely return for another stay and recommend to anyone looking for a perfect place to camp! Also, went to a nearby canoe/tubing rental place and had a great experience canoeing down the Thornapple River.

Great place to camp. This is one of our family's favorite campgrounds. Staff is wonderful! Lots to do and you never run out of fire wood (they deliver)! VERY clean showers and restrooms!

8th year and we enjoy every visit. We have camped at Whispering Water's for many years, each year better than the last! The weekend special events are fun, and we enjoy the potlucks and the time to relax and visit friends. Roger and Uta are top notch hosts, and always greet us with a warm smile and hug. Thank you Roger and Uta for all the work you do to keep your campground safe and fun for families. You are very much appreciated!

Relaxation. What a great find! We stayed from a Friday to Sunday. Nice late check-out (2pm). The camp ground is clean and well kept up. Most sites have trees for shade and grass for the kids to play on. Bathrooms/showers are very clean. I normally use our camper shower but used the camp grounds instead. Saturday morning craft ($1) and night time hay ride (free) was a big hit with the kids. Pool was nice and clean with lots of chairs for sitting and relaxing. It was nice having choices for buying fire wood, by the bundle or a bucket load. Now the bucket load would last you enough or 4/5 stays depending on how much like to burn. Staff was very friendly and open to conversation. They treated you as if you were family. We will be going back! Extremely happy with our stay.
